The Asics Gel-Patriot 4 builds on its predecessors whilst still being ideal for runners who do not run particularly high mileage with a focus particularly on providing superb heel cushioning through Asics cutting edge technologies. AHAR+ on the outsole is placed in the heel to reduce wear and increase durability for those who do high mileage. Also the solid rubber outsole provides great longevity and durability. There is an EVA Sockliner placed inside the shoe for additional comfort which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic. The upper, comprising of synthetic leather and mesh, makes the shoe lightweight, breathable and comfortable, enhancing its performance and fit.
